Help the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Make a Difference on Land, Sea or in the Air!

With over 26,000 members serving in 825 Flotillas (local units), we provide support in all areas of the US Coast Guard operations except military or law enforcement.  Our members are proud to be a part of many missions, including Boating Safety Education, Water Patrols, Search and Rescue support, Vessel Safety Checks, Air Patrol, Pollution Response, Food Service and so much more!

The Auxiliary member joins a Flotilla, which is the local-level group with whom they work.  The Flotillas are organized largely by geography, allowing the members who live in that community to join.  Once you express an interest in the Auxiliary and contact a flotilla member or leader, we will help you become acclimated to our structure.

Incoming US Coast Guard "Auxiliarists" will work directly with their Flotilla Leadership to create a path of interest to them, gain the necessary education needed, and begin supporting the US Coast Guard.  Join today, and see how far you can go with us!

There are many resources and ways we work to educate the boating public.  It is our goal to always ensure the safety of all boaters, by giving boaters the tools they need for success.  With your work in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, we can be certain to meet this mission.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT WHAT WE OFFER

As a organization dedicated to your safety and enjoyment on the water, we want to provide you with the information you may need to have a incident-free boating experience.  Below are just some of the tools and resources we feel most valuable for you.

Vessel Safety Check - One of the most valuable free services provided by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary is a Vessel Safety Check. This review is crucial to you and your guests' safety.  Together we take the time to explore safety topics, including use of effective life vests, reviewing flares and their current expiration dates, checking fire extinguishers and discussing safety improvements.  Visit www.cgaux.org or click on Request a Vessel Safety Check to learn more.

Float Plan - How do you best let family and friends know your boating activities and location(s) for the day?  Should you not return in time, wouldn't it be nice to know that someone is on the lookout for you? Visit the US Coast Guard Auxiliary's Float Plan Central and learn more about this valuable action you can take.

Boating Safety Courses - whether you are a new boat-owner, seasoned one, or just someone looking to refine your skills, attending a Boating Safety Course is the one education you can't pass up.  These courses offer insight into boating, education on navigating on the waters, and working with other resources.  The courses are open to anyone and may come with a small materials or course fee.  For the US Coast Guard Auxiliary's resource please visit www.cgaux.org or click on Take a Boating Safety Class.
